Letter from the Chapter President
The Channel Islands Chapter of Community Associations Institute continues to thrive and prosper. In 2011, by the leadership of Chapter President, Sandra Gottlieb and support of the chapter's Board of Directors and committee members, the chapter membership increased by 22% and event attendance increased by 23%. As we forge ahead in 2012, we continue to build on the 2011 achievements and anticipate continued growth for the chapter as we provide even more resources and education to our members.
CAI's purpose is to provide our members with outstanding education and resources so they can in return make better decisions for their communities. Education and resources are provided through the chapter's quarterly magazine 'The Channels of Communication', chapter luncheon programs, board member training workshops and other events that are geared specifically to providing quality education to our members. Our goal is to assist our members in being better board members, community managers and homeowners. The luncheons and seminars also provide a network exchange between community leaders, offering practical solutions and guidance to the challenges and issues faced in communities alike.
One way the chapter continues to strive is by the support of our business partner members who sponsor and advertise with the chapter. We encourage you to get to know these members who specialize in providing outstanding services to the community association industry. Not sure who all our business partners are? See the full service directory by clicking here or view their contact information in our print directory that is published annually and a benefit of chapter membership. We wish to thank our business partner members for their dedication to the chapter as their financial support provides the educational opportunities for our members. Without their support we would not be able to provide the excellent quality of education and events that we do.
Another way the chapter continues to strive is by the support of the Chapter's Board of Directors and committee members. These volunteers are working on members' behalf to continue to add value to your membership by providing education, guidance and networking opportunities. We want your experience with the Channel Islands Chapter of CAI to support you in becoming the best community leader possible. You can assist us in this effort by providing your feedback on the surveys at chapter events or contact the chapter office at 805-658-1438.
We appreciate your attendance at chapter events and look forward to serving you in 2012.
Sincerely,
Danita Vaughn, PCAM, AMS, CMCA CAI-Channel Islands Chapter President
