I'm sure you will all agree that 2009 was a year of many challenges, many of those being the result of a very difficult economy. Through the leadership of our 2009 President, Kirk Prouse, and our Board of Directors, I'm pleased to say that the Channel Islands Chapter of CAI met those challenges head on and led us to another successful year. If you have the opportunity, please thank them for their hard work and dedication.
As I now assume the responsibility of leading our chapter through the next year, the message I want to send to each of you is that I am both grateful for the opportunity to be your president for 2010 and humbled by the trust you have placed in me.
Your 2010 Board of Directors is committed to building on the achievements of last year and wants you to know that your input is key to that purpose. Please share your ideas and concern so that we may better serve.
This is the year to become actively involved in your chapter. If each of you can find time in your busy schedules to attend a luncheon, participate in a workshop or forum, you will not only be gaining personal and professional growth, you will be contributing to the further growth of your chapter. Take advantage of the educational opportunities available. The Chapter's new website now gives you quick access to all chapter information and program registration.
CLAC, California Legislative Action Committee, faces more challenges than ever. The continued difficult economic environment has legislators putting more pressure on your members than ever before. CLAC continues to fight legislation that prevents associations to function efficiently within our communities and desperately needs your support to carry on. Please take time to get to know your CLAC committee. They are working hard for you.
Thank you for visiting the Channel Islands Chapter website. We hope to see you soon at a Chapter Event.
Sincerley,
