CLAC News - Urge Governor Brown to VETO AB 634 Click here to urge Governor Brown to VETO Assembly Bill 634! AB 634 (Eggman) was passed by both houses of the state legislature, and is on the Governor's desk for his signature. If signed, AB 634 would eliminate local control and replace it with a one-size-fits-all statewide solution to managing solar panels in common interest developments. Current law allows homeowners to modify common use property in these communities if two-thirds of the association residents vote in favor of the modification. This protects the interests of everyone on the community as well as our local control! AB 634 reduces local control by bypassing those requirement and opens homeowners to potential property damage, water leaks, and other maintenance and aesthetic concerns associated with the mis-installation of solar panels. In effect, it would allow one person to monopolize the roof space of a \"common area\" with solar panels for their sole benefit without the permission of everyone else who owns the roof. You still have a chance to protect your community and local control. E-mail Governor Brown today to stop this bill that would hurt all of us living in our communities!
